Hi, and welcome to the first missive of Cosmic Indigestion, a wheneverly newsletter focused on interrogating meaning making systems through an integrative lens combining modern physics, science, statistical methodologies, and computational practices with ancient history, religion, the occult and other “woo” topics, topped off with a healthy helping of off-the-wall speculation.
I mostly focus on astrology, but areas of exploration such as tarot, esoteric enneagram, psi research, animism, amateur physics and depth psychology, and whatever else I’m onto are on the table.
The goal here is not to prove but to play on the way to a wider understanding, one which can be used to create reliable, predictable software tools that scale to push people to a sudden, radical encounter with the suspicious nature of reality.
As an example, currently I am thinking about prediction of world events with mundane astrology, the examination of recurring time periods as well as the natal charts of countries and their rulers, and the type of “maps” of time you could create if you have computational tools to process eclipses and major transits en masse across all countries and their leaders. These visualizations—maps of meaning evolving cyclically through time—are extremely important to me and will be one of the major outcomes of my research.
All this being said with much pomp and gravity, irreverence is an important part of my epistomology so expect plenty of jokes, wry remarks, and probably some completely miscellaneous fun addendums to the core content.
That’s all for now—I wrote this to introduce this newsletter, and of course, to make sure to set that sweet, sweet election chart.
Best,
P.S.: Thanks to @sashachapin for the initial “substack when” and @visakanv for the name Cosmic Indigestion, which perfectly summarizes how I feel about how the aforementioned “suspicious” nature of reality. I’m giving you a one-time credit anyway :)
